My purpose is to lead by example and show what’s possible when businesses open their doors to neurodivergent people. I want my son - and every young person like him - to have the same opportunities as anyone else, to follow their passions and build a future full of choice.
That’s why I started Better Merch. What began as a simple idea - that merchandise could be “branded with purpose” - has grown into a business that creates real jobs and real impact. Every order helps us employ neurodivergent Australians, people who’ve been long-term unemployed, and those living in regional areas who deserve the same chance to thrive.
I believe business should do more than make a profit. It should build confidence, create opportunities, and inspire others to take action. For our clients, it means your merch spend goes further - helping you hit ESG and social procurement goals, while also changing lives.
Cody Johns
Operations & Client Support Coordinator
Before joining Better Merch, Cody had struggled to secure his first job caught in the familiar cycle of needing experience to get an opportunity, but needing an opportunity to gain experience.
Since joining the team, Cody has grown across order processing, supplier communication, client support and day-to-day operations. He has developed the confidence to share his point of view, advocate for clients, negotiate with suppliers and take real ownership of outcomes. His experience is a reminder of what can happen when workplaces look beyond a resume and give people the opportunity to prove what they can do.
Through his role at Better Merch, he is building skills, confidence and experience while becoming an important voice within the business.
Will Crisfield
Journalist & Impact Storyteller
My name is Will, often referred to informally as Wilba, and I’m Better Merch’s resident journalist and impact storyteller. Bilingual in Italian and a lover of literature, history and film, I’m an aspiring investigative journalist who is proudly neurodiverse; I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD as a young child. I have always strived to improve the understanding of neurodiversity, whether through creating dialogue or calling out misconceptions. I find that the values of Better Merch align with my philosophy towards embracing neurodiversity, providing the opportunity to have meaningful work that matches our capabilities; in essence, championing our individual strengths whilst accommodating our needs.
Kristopher Govic
Social Media Content Creator
Working across both production and customer-facing tasks, Kristopher helps prepare and decorate branded merchandise, support deliveries, assist clients and contribute to content that helps tell the Better Merch story.
Outside of Better Merch, Kristopher is studying music and is working towards a career as a session musician. His internship is giving him valuable workplace experience while building his confidence, communication skills, creativity and ability to work as part of a team.
Bobby Johnson
Operations Manager
Tech-savvy, risk-aware and highly detail-focused, Bobby works across online merchandise portals, internal CRM systems, production workflows, supplier coordination and operational processes. He has a strong ability to spot potential issues early, work through the detail and find practical solutions that help keep the business moving.
Viki was the first person to give Bobby an opportunity in the workforce, and since then he has continued to grow well beyond expectations. He has built confidence, developed strong technical and operational skills, become more connected socially and taken on increasing responsibility across the business.
Bobby approaches new challenges with curiosity, persistence and a willingness to learn. Whether he is building a process, troubleshooting a system or helping the team find a better way of doing something, he brings a genuine “can do” attitude to the role.
He is also passionate about being part of a company that is making a real difference. Bobby’s journey is a strong example of what can happen when someone is given a chance, trusted to grow and supported to build on their strengths.
